Course Description:
This course is designed for students seeking to learn the basic principles of self-defense, such as kicking, falling, punching, throwing, and other techniques learned from a variety of martial arts (Judo, Karate, and Hapkido are central to this class). Students will also foster physical fitness training, mental discipline, and learn of martial arts philosophy as well as its culture.
Course Objectives:
The central goal of this class is to help students improve their coordination, balance, endurance, agility, flexibility, and overall fitness. Other goals include the learning of self-defense skills, building self-confidence, self-discipline, the improvement of one's concentration/focus, and better coping strategies. It will also help students to keep a stronger life balance -- and, above all, will help students get release from their stress in the midst of a busy lifestyle.
