everpromisedthunderThere was once a young girl whose life was shattered by an accusation, leveled against her family. She both loathed the world deeply after all the pain it had heaped on her, and feared for it. Those feelings would be put to the test one day, when another girl, with a cheeky smile, a love of life, and a weight of her own, took her hand.
This silver-haired girl that would change another’s world wasn’t without her problems. The finer details were lost on her at times, she often rushed without thinking, and was just as often the troublemaker. She also thought very highly of herself – wanted to become the strongest guardian the world had known, swore she would become it. But when she loved, she loved wholeheartedly, earnestly, loudly – she declared it even as times got rougher and rougher for the both of them. And when she found reason to be angry at the world for how it failed the one she rescued - her one and only, she would insist - and those they would come to know as true friends, her blood boiled, and she sought to right such injustice.
That girl was – is - a knight. One that yearned to protect all that is beautiful in the world, even if it cost her life.
The princess she swore to guard, and to protect from herself, didn’t want it to always be like this. She felt indebted. She wanted to give back to that silver haired knight however she could, even fight at her side, or even be her protector, just once. Even as the world eventually began conspiring to tear them from one another, she reached out, fought as hard as she could on her own terms. When she found all her effort still wasn’t enough, she wept bitterly, and sought every avenue to be of use to everyone. She pushed herself to the breaking point, and when even that toll did not satisfy the world, she grew desperate.
